You are my good morning
You are my good morning.
Today I thought about all the ways I could have died that I averted. A harrowing curve along a 50-foot cliff, a pack of coyotes, an overly eager person on a grocery cart scooter heading for the cheese-in-a-can aisle. A swollen tongue from eating sardines, slathering sunscreen on my face and not knowing if it’s the sunscreen that causes cancer or the lack of vitamin D. And a homemade week-old carrot ferment.
Did you know spousal homicide is right up there. And I thought my husband lay awake watching for bears so they didn’t eat me.
I wake up refreshed knowing I averted being killed overnight.
Another day. Another night.
