Joey Cannon - I’m the lead potter at Mudwood Gnomes. I’ve been dreaming of pottery since my first apprenticeship at 16. It wasn't until 18 years later when I scored a working apprenticeship with Darby, a long time neighbor, friend and founder of Laughin'Gnome Pottery-- that my dream became more of a reality.  When Darby began looking to scale back, I saw an opportunity to continue to create in a production environment and expand the creative voice and direction alongside Arthur, Seac and Cynthia as the Mudwood Gnomes. It’s been shenanigans ever since. What I really enjoy is adding unexpected whimsy into everyday objects and pushing the limits on the wheel seeing just how BIG I can make the ideas that come to my mind's eye. Pottery affords me a space to collaborate with friends, family and chance, to create the ultimate art for your kitchen, garden and home.

Michael Walsh - We live in a land of stolen innocence. Although long estranged by wisdom from our roots, we are not wholly lost. The human soul was once on open display in the gods we made and the stories we told. In these dark times, our job is to wake up those dreams and retell the stories. Perhaps, we can still find the joy and resilience we need to save that bit of the world that remains to us. Each figurative sculpture tells a story. Often, it begins with a clay head that provides me with a character. As I continue to work on the body, I look for clues leading to the figure’s identity. Other times, I start with a base or two feet and work upward. In either case, the sculpture and I tell each other where we are going while we are busy getting there. “There” is a place Tolkien or Swift would have recognized, peopled by beings who remind us of ourselves and our grandeur in the face of adversity. Starting in the late 60’s, I have shown my work in San Francisco, CA, Zürich, Switzerland, Ashland, OR. My most recent one-man-show was at the Collective Visions Gallery in Bremerton, WA (March, 2026).

Swerv Wizely - You may know me from my sourdough bagels. Turns out, bagels and clay teach me a lot about myself, each other, patience and humility. I am delighted to be sharing more of my whimsical, ancient, bespoke ceramics with my community this year via the PT Farmer's Market, via The Clay House, and Pigeon Porch: A place for ceramics, people, time and stories. Working with clay feels like an awakening each time. It drops me into presence, into my body, and into a lineage of makers that stretches back since time immemorial. Suddenly in conversation with something ancient and alive — memory, land, culture, and the simple magic of making something from the ground beneath our feet. I’m drawn to shapes and textures that wake up the senses — curves that feel good in your hands, surfaces that surprise you, forms that seem to have their own quiet personalities. My life is rooted in non-dual animism and my work explores what it means to stay in relationship with the whole to steward a re-membering of what it means to belong, believe and become. Come see my new studio- The Clay House in partnership with The Mudwood Cottage. We cordially invite you to join us for the first-annual Oddball Faire: Pottery + Peculiar Pieces. We will also have wheels on with opportunities to see some throwing as time allows!
