Jeffrey Eichen
Artist Bio & Description: Jeff Eichen was born in California in 1958. At 17, Jeff studied photography with Ansel Adams at the Yosemite workshop and learned the Zone System. Ansel’s car had a license plate that read “ZoneV.” Jeff also studied with Brett Weston (son of Edward Weston) and later with Bernard Freemesser at the University of Oregon in 1976.
In 1980, Jeff moved to the Netherlands to teach photography as a teacher’s assistant and exchange student, working with Byron Piniger (from Port Hadlock Marina).
Upon returning to the U.S., Jeff moved to Los Angeles and worked professionally in architectural photography for over 15 years.
He continued to show his art through the years, and in the mid-to-late 1990s, he returned to teaching middle school photography in Topanga Canyon.
In 1995, Jeff taught himself Photoshop and in 2001 joined a major digital studio in Los Angeles, producing museum-quality Giclée prints for commercial installations and museums.
Jeff’s work has been exhibited worldwide in art galleries and commercial spaces.
Now living in Port Townsend, Jeff is a digital artist, instructor, and professional photographer. He specializes in architectural, residential, and product photography, as well as HD video for clients.
