Judith Bird

Artist Bio & Description: Fans of Judith Bird’s silk scarves, sold in the west exclusively at SAM, will be happy to know that her studio with more and more styles of scarves, will be open in Port Townsend’s annual studio tour. In addition, she will be showing, for the first time in this area, dramatic hand dyed silk jackets based on vintage silk woven for kimono. The designs are transformed in the studio with dyed patterning, printing, stitching then styled into jackets. All are one of the kind. Over the years, she has shown her work in over 20 Philadelphia Craft Shows, the Smithsonian Craft Show and the American Craft Association Shows. Recently she has been represented at the Santa Fe Weaving Gallery.
